Description
First Cut Brisket is THE roast of choice for many of our customers holiday and shabbat tables. It's lean, but very flavorful, and when braised gently (keep the lid on tight) you'll find it moist and tender, never dry. If you think you don't like first cut brisket, you haven't tried a Grow & Behold kosher first cut brisket! Our Black Angus cattle are bred for tenderness and raised in the US on pasture with no hormones or antibiotics.
Other names for this cut: Flat Cut Brisket
When braising, make sure your pan is covered, and there is enough liquid in the pot to come up a third of the way over the roast. After a couple hours, flip and add more liquid (broth, water, wine, etc.) as needed.
- Oven/Roast: Braise low and slow. Do ahead: braised meats taste best a day or two after cooking!
- Sousvide: Use your electric immersion circulator to cook to desired doneness.
